Job Summary:
The Senior Resident in Pharmacology supports teaching, research, and departmental academic activities. This role is primarily focused on gaining postdoctoral teaching experience, participating in curriculum delivery, and contributing to ongoing research and institutional programs such as pharmacovigilance.
Key Responsibilities:
Academic Responsibilities:
- Teach and assist in conducting theory classes, tutorials, and practical sessions for undergraduate (MBBS, BDS, Nursing, Allied Health) students.
- Prepare teaching materials, MCQs, and assignments in alignment with the curriculum.
- Support examination-related work including question paper setting, invigilation, and evaluation.
- Participate in departmental academic programs such as journal clubs, seminars, and quizzes.
Research Responsibilities:
- Assist in departmental and institutional research projects, including data collection, literature review, and analysis.
- Participate in pharmacological research (basic, clinical, or experimental) and scholarly writing.
- Contribute to preparation and submission of manuscripts for publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Collaborate with PG students and faculty on thesis-related work.
Pharmacovigilance and Clinical Support (if applicable):
- Participate in pharmacovigilance activities including ADR monitoring and reporting.
- Assist in hospital-based programs such as drug utilization studies, rational use audits, and therapeutic committees.
- Maintain and manage pharmacology laboratory equipment and research tools.
Administrative and Logistical Support:
- Maintain records of academic activities, student performance, and lab stock/inventory.
- Help coordinate departmental meetings, inspections, and compliance with regulatory bodies (e.g., NMC).
- Participate in community and outreach programs related to rational drug use and awareness.
Qualifications:
- MBBS with MD in Pharmacology (or equivalent postgraduate qualification from an NMC-recognized institution).
- Fresh MD graduates or those with limited teaching experience post-MD are eligible.
- Must be registered with the National Medical Commission (NMC)/Medical Council of India and relevant State Medical Council.
