Senior Resident Biochemistry

Job Summary:

The Senior Resident in Biochemistry will support undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, assist in clinical laboratory services, engage in academic research, and contribute to administrative functions of the department. The role is designed to foster academic growth, clinical exposure, and professional development.

Key Responsibilities:Teaching & Academic Responsibilities:

  • Conduct lectures and practical sessions for MBBS, BDS, and allied health sciences students.
  • Guide students during practical experiments in clinical and analytical biochemistry.
  • Assist in framing and evaluating internal assessments and examinations.
  • Prepare academic materials, lab manuals, and teaching aids.
  • Provide mentorship and academic support to students and junior residents.

Clinical Laboratory & Technical Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and assist in the daily operations of the clinical biochemistry laboratory.
  • Ensure quality control, validation, and interpretation of lab results in coordination with the lab team.
  • Familiarize with NABL/ISO accreditation protocols (if applicable).
  • Liaise with other departments for integration of laboratory diagnostics in clinical care.

Research & Publications:

  • Participate in departmental and interdisciplinary research projects.
  • Present papers at national/international conferences and publish in indexed journals.
  • Assist in developing grant proposals and collaborative studies.

Administrative Duties:

  • Assist in organizing departmental CME programs, seminars, and workshops.
  • Maintain documentation and compliance with NMC or institutional regulations.
  • Help manage departmental inventory, records, and laboratory equipment.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • MBBS degree recognized by the NMC.
  • MD in Biochemistry from a recognized institution.
  • Valid registration with State Medical Council / NMC.
  • Prior teaching or laboratory experience preferred but not mandatory.

Qualification – MBBS, MS/MD, DNB
