Senior Resident Anatomy

Job Summary: The Senior Resident in Anatomy will assist in teaching, research, and clinical activities related to anatomy at the medical school or institution. This role involves providing advanced instruction in human anatomy to medical students, conducting and supervising dissection and laboratory sessions, engaging in research activities, and participating in departmental and institutional academic functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Teaching & Instruction:
    • Conduct lectures, practical sessions, and tutorials for undergraduate and postgraduate students in human anatomy.
    • Supervise dissection sessions and laboratory work, ensuring the students are adequately trained in practical skills.
    • Provide individual academic support to students as needed, including help with anatomy-related coursework and examination preparation.
    • Assist in the development and evaluation of academic materials, including presentations, quizzes, and examinations.
  2. Research & Academic Activities:
    • Engage in ongoing anatomical research projects, contributing to both departmental and institutional research goals.
    • Participate in academic meetings, conferences, and seminars related to anatomy and medical education.
    • Publish research findings in reputable journals and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in anatomy.
    • Collaborate with faculty members and researchers on interdisciplinary projects.
  3. Clinical & Practical Training:
    • Assist in clinical anatomy teaching and demonstrations, working closely with clinical departments.
    • Support the development of anatomy-related curricula for various medical programs.
    • Contribute to the maintenance of anatomical laboratories and cadaver specimens, ensuring ethical standards are met in accordance with legal and academic guidelines.
  4. Administrative & Departmental Responsibilities:
    • Participate in departmental meetings and assist in administrative tasks, including record keeping and report preparation.
    • Collaborate with the department head in curriculum development and updates based on current trends in medical education.
    • Assist with the preparation and grading of anatomy examinations, including written, oral, and practical assessments.
  5. Professional Development:
    • Stay updated with the latest developments in anatomical research, medical education, and related fields.
    • Attend workshops, courses, and conferences to enhance teaching and research skills.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education: M.B.B.S. or equivalent medical degree, followed by a Master’s degree (M.D./M.S.) in Anatomy or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a teaching or clinical environment, particularly in medical or dental anatomy.
