Professor Respiratory Medicine

Job Summary:

The Professor of Respiratory Medicine will serve as a leader in education, clinical practice, and research within the Department of Respiratory Medicine. This role involves mentoring faculty and trainees, advancing the field through innovative research, and providing expert clinical care to patients with respiratory conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teaching and Mentorship:
  • Develop and deliver advanced educational programs for medical students, residents, and fellows in respiratory medicine.
  • Mentor and supervise residents, fellows, and junior faculty in clinical practice, research, and professional development.
  • Evaluate and enhance the curriculum to maintain high educational standards and foster a collaborative learning environment.
• Clinical Practice:
  • Provide expert care for patients with respiratory conditions, including the diagnosis, treatment, and management of diseases such as asthma, COPD, and interstitial lung disease.
  • Perform complex diagnostic procedures and therapeutic interventions as required.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient management and optimal clinical outcomes.
• Research and Scholarship:
  • Lead and engage in innovative research initiatives in respiratory medicine, focusing on clinical outcomes, translational research, and health services research.
  • Publish research findings in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals and present at national and international conferences.
  • Seek external funding and grants to support research activities and initiatives.
• Leadership and Service:
  • Actively participate in departmental governance and contribute to strategic planning and policy development.
  • Engage in professional organizations and community outreach to promote respiratory health education and public health.
  • Foster collaborations with other departments and institutions to enhance interdisciplinary research and clinical care.

Qualifications:

• Education:
  • Medical degree (MBBS +MS/MD) with completion of a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in respiratory medicine (pulmonology).
