Professor Orthopedic

Job Summary:

The Professor of Orthopedic Surgery will serve as a leader in education, clinical practice, and research within the Department of Orthopedic Surgery. This role involves mentoring faculty and trainees, advancing the field through innovative research, and providing expert orthopedic care to patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching and Mentorship:
    • Develop and deliver advanced educational programs for medical students, residents, and fellows in orthopedic surgery.
    • Mentor and supervise residents, fellows, and junior faculty in clinical practice, research, and professional development.
    • Evaluate and enhance the curriculum to ensure high educational standards and foster a collaborative learning environment.
  • Clinical Practice:
    • Provide expert care in orthopedic surgery, including diagnosis and management of a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions.
    • Perform complex surgical procedures and oversee postoperative care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
    • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated patient management and optimal clinical outcomes.
  • Research and Scholarship:
    • Lead and engage in innovative research initiatives in orthopedic surgery, focusing on clinical outcomes, surgical techniques, and advancements in patient care.
    • Publish research findings in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals and present at national and international conferences.
    • Seek external funding and grants to support research activities and initiatives.
  • Leadership and Service:
    • Actively participate in departmental governance and contribute to strategic planning and policy development.
    • Engage in professional organizations and community outreach to promote orthopedic education and public health.
    • Foster collaborations with other departments and institutions to enhance interdisciplinary research and clinical care.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Medical degree (MBBS + MS/MD) with completion of a residency in orthopedic surgery.
    • Fellowship training in a subspecialty of orthopedic surgery is highly desirable.
