Job Summary:

The Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology will serve as a leader in education, clinical practice, and research within the Department of OBG. This role involves mentoring faculty and trainees, advancing the field through innovative research, and providing expert care in obstetrics and gynecology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teaching and Mentorship:
  • Develop and deliver advanced educational programs for medical students, residents, and fellows in obstetrics and gynecology.
  • Mentor and supervise residents, fellows, and junior faculty in clinical practice, research, and professional development.
  • Evaluate and enhance the curriculum to maintain high educational standards and foster a collaborative learning environment.
• Clinical Practice:
  • Provide expert care in obstetrics and gynecology, including prenatal care, labor and delivery, and management of complex gynecological conditions.
  • Perform surgical procedures as necessary and oversee postoperative care.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient management and high-quality care.
• Research and Scholarship:
  • Lead and engage in innovative research initiatives in obstetrics and gynecology, focusing on clinical outcomes, health services research, and advancements in women’s health.
  • Publish research findings in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals and present at national and international conferences.
  • Seek external funding and grants to support research activities and initiatives.
• Leadership and Service:
  • Actively participate in departmental governance and contribute to strategic planning and policy development.
  • Engage in professional organizations and community outreach to promote women’s health and education.
  • Foster collaborations with other departments and institutions to enhance interdisciplinary research and clinical care.

Qualifications:

• Education:
  • Medical degree (MBBS + MS/MD or equivalent) with completion of a residency in obstetrics and gynecology.
  • Fellowship training in a subspecialty of obstetrics and gynecology is highly desirable.
