Professor General Medicine

Job Summary:

The Professor of General Medicine will serve as a leader in education, clinical practice, and research within the Department of General Medicine. This role involves mentoring faculty and trainees, advancing the field through innovative research, and providing expert patient care in general medicine.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teaching and Mentorship:
  • Develop and deliver advanced educational programs for medical students, residents, and fellows in general medicine.
  • Mentor and supervise residents, fellows, and junior faculty in clinical practice, research, and professional development.
  • Evaluate and enhance the curriculum to ensure high educational standards and foster a collaborative learning environment.
• Clinical Practice:
  • Provide expert diagnostic and therapeutic services for a diverse range of medical conditions.
  • Lead clinical teams in inpatient and outpatient settings, ensuring high standards of patient care and safety.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate comprehensive patient management.
• Research and Scholarship:
  • Lead and engage in innovative research initiatives in general medicine, focusing on clinical outcomes, patient safety, and healthcare delivery.
  • Publish research findings in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals and present at national and international conferences.
  • Seek external funding and grants to support research activities and initiatives.
• Leadership and Service:
  • Actively participate in departmental governance and strategic planning.
  • Engage in professional organizations and community outreach to promote general medicine education and public health.
  • Foster collaborations with other departments and institutions to enhance interdisciplinary research and clinical care.

Qualifications:

• Education:
  • Medical degree (MBBS + MS/MD) with completion of a residency in internal medicine or general medicine.
  • Fellowship training in a subspecialty of internal medicine is preferred.
