Professor General Medicine

Job Summary:

The Professor of General Medicine will be responsible for teaching, research, and service in the field of General Medicine. The successful candidate will provide high-quality education to medical students, residents, and fellows, engage in clinical practice, and contribute to the advancement of medical knowledge through research. The position also involves mentoring students and junior faculty, as well as participating in the administration of the department.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Teaching:
   • Develop and deliver lectures, seminars, and clinical training in General Medicine for medical students, residents, and fellows.
   • Supervise and mentor students in clinical settings, ensuring a high standard of patient care and education.
   • Create and update course materials, including syllabi, presentations, and examinations.
   • Participate in curriculum development and assessment activities.
2. Clinical Practice:
   • Provide patient care in the university hospital or affiliated clinical settings.
   • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
   • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills in General Medicine.
3. Research:
   • Conduct original research in the field of General Medicine, with the aim of advancing medical knowledge and practice.
   • Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at academic conferences.
   • Seek external funding through grants and other funding opportunities.
   • Supervise research projects undertaken by students and junior faculty.
4. Service:
   • Serve on departmental, college, and university committees.
   • Participate in community outreach and public health initiatives.
   • Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to the medical community.
5. Administration:
   • Assist in the administration and management of the General Medicine department.
   • Contribute to strategic planning and policy development.
   • Participate in faculty recruitment, evaluation, and promotion processes.

Qualifications:

• Education: MD or equivalent degree with specialization in General Medicine.
