Professor Dermatology

Job Summary:

The Professor of Dermatology will serve as a leader in education, clinical practice, and research within the Department of Dermatology. This role involves mentoring faculty and trainees, conducting innovative research, and providing expert dermatological care, thereby advancing the field of dermatology and enhancing the department’s reputation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teaching and Mentorship:
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive educational programs for medical students, residents, and fellows in dermatology.
  • Mentor and supervise residents, fellows, and junior faculty in clinical practice and research initiatives.
  • Evaluate and enhance the curriculum to ensure the highest standards of education and training.
• Clinical Practice:
  • Provide expert dermatological care, including the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of skin diseases and conditions.
  • Perform advanced dermatologic procedures and surgeries as required.
  • Ensure high standards of patient care and safety in clinical practice.
• Research and Scholarship:
  • Lead and contribute to cutting-edge research initiatives in dermatology, focusing on clinical outcomes, innovative treatments, and health disparities.
  • Publish research findings in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals and present at national and international conferences.
  • Seek external funding through grants and collaborations to support research efforts.
• Leadership and Service:
  • Actively participate in departmental leadership and governance, contributing to strategic planning and policy development.
  • Engage in professional organizations and community outreach to promote dermatological education and awareness.
  • Foster collaborations with other departments and institutions to enhance interdisciplinary research and clinical initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Education:
  • Medical degree (MBBS + MS/MD) with completion of a residency in dermatology.
  • Fellowship training in a subspecialty of dermatology is preferred.
