Job Summary:

The Professor of Anesthesia will serve as a leader in education, clinical practice, and research within the Department of Anesthesia. This role encompasses mentoring faculty and trainees, advancing the field through innovative research, and delivering high-quality anesthesia care in a variety of clinical settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teaching and Mentorship:
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive educational programs for medical students, residents, and fellows in sedation.
  • Mentor and supervise residents and junior faculty in clinical and research activities.
  • Evaluate and enhance the curriculum to ensure high educational standards and outcomes.
• Clinical Practice:
  • Provide expert anesthesia care across a wide range of surgical procedures and settings.
  • Collaborate with surgical teams to formulate and implement individualized sedation plans.
  • Uphold the highest standards of patient safety and quality assurance in all clinical practices.
• Research and Scholarship:
  • Lead and participate in innovative research initiatives within the field of anesthesia, focusing on areas such as patient outcomes, safety, and new technologies.
  • Publish research findings in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals and present at relevant conferences.
  • Actively seek external funding and grant opportunities to support research projects.
• Leadership and Service:
  • Contribute to departmental leadership and governance, participating in strategic planning and policy development.
  • Engage in professional organizations and community outreach to promote the field of anesthesiology and educate the public about anesthesia safety.
  • Foster collaboration with other departments to enhance interdisciplinary care and research.

Qualifications:

• Education:
  • Medical degree (MBBS + MS/MD) with completion of a residency in anesthesiology.
  • Fellowship training in a subspecialty of anesthesiology is highly desirable.
