Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Radiologist to join our radiology department. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert radiological services, including the interpretation of imaging studies, participation in multidisciplinary team meetings, and involvement in the training and development of junior medical staff. The role requires a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care, ensuring the accuracy of diagnoses, and contributing to the continuous improvement of the radiology service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Responsibilities:
- Interpret and report on a wide range of imaging studies, including X-rays, CT scans, MRI scans, ultrasound, and other diagnostic imaging modalities.
- Perform interventional radiology procedures, where applicable.
- Provide expert advice and consultation to referring clinicians regarding imaging findings and patient management.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and case discussions to contribute to patient care planning.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of imaging studies, adhering to departmental and hospital protocols.
- Leadership and Management:
- Provide clinical leadership within the radiology department, guiding junior doctors and radiographers.
- Participate in departmental meetings, contributing to the development and implementation of clinical protocols and quality improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with other departments and healthcare professionals to enhance the overall patient care experience.
- Teaching and Training:
- Mentor and supervise junior radiologists, radiographers, and medical students, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
- Participate in educational activities, including lectures, workshops, and case reviews, to enhance the knowledge and skills of the radiology team.
- Research and Development:
- Engage in clinical research activities, contributing to the advancement of radiological practices and the publication of findings in peer-reviewed journals.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in radiology, incorporating new techniques and technologies into clinical practice.
- Quality and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations, standards, and best practices related to radiology.
- Participate in clinical audits and quality assurance programs to maintain high standards of patient care.
- Promote a culture of safety, accuracy, and continuous improvement within the department.
Qualifications:
- Medical degree (MBBS , MS/MD, DNB, DMRD)from a recognized institution.
- Completion of specialty training in Radiology.
- Valid medical license to practice as a Consultant Radiologist.
- Extensive experience in diagnostic and interventional radiology.
- Strong clinical skills and expertise in interpreting a variety of imaging modalities.
- Experience in leading multidisciplinary teams and mentoring junior staff.
