Consultant OBG

Job Summary:

The Consultant OBG is responsible for delivering comprehensive care in obstetrics and gynaecology, including antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care, as well as managing gynaecological conditions. The role involves clinical diagnosis, treatment planning, surgeries, patient education, and participation in quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert consultation in obstetrics and gynaecology, including high-risk pregnancies.
• Perform deliveries (normal and cesarean sections) and gynaecological surgeries (laparoscopy, hysterectomy, etc.).
• Diagnose and treat reproductive system disorders.
• Conduct regular outpatient clinics and ward rounds.
• Ensure thorough antenatal and postnatal care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (anesthetists, neonatologists, radiologists, etc.).
• Participate in on-call rotations, handling emergencies including obstetric hemorrhage, eclampsia, etc.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with medical protocols and hospital policies.
• Mentor junior doctors, residents, and medical students.
• Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to departmental audits and research.

Qualifications:

• MBBS with MD/MS/DNB in Obstetrics & Gynaecology from a recognized institution.
• Valid medical license/registration with the [Medical Council or relevant authority].
• Fellowship or additional training in maternal-fetal medicine, reproductive medicine, or laparoscopic surgery is a plus.
