Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Consultant Nephrologist to join our multidisciplinary medical team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and treating kidney-related conditions, providing expert care to patients with acute and chronic renal diseases, and overseeing dialysis programs. This role also includes leadership in clinical decision-making, education of junior staff, and participation in quality improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and manage patients with various kidney disorders including chronic kidney disease (CKD), acute kidney injury (AKI), glomerular diseases, electrolyte imbalances, and hypertension.
- Provide care for patients requiring renal replacement therapy including hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and post-transplant care.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams in developing individualized care plans.
- Perform and interpret diagnostic procedures such as renal biopsies and ultrasound-guided access placements (if applicable).
- Supervise and guide dialysis unit operations and protocols.
- Collaborate with transplant teams to evaluate and manage kidney transplant recipients and donors.
- Engage in clinical governance, quality assurance, and continuous improvement activities.
- Contribute to the education and training of junior doctors, medical students, and nursing staff.
- Maintain up-to-date clinical records and comply with regulatory requirements and institutional policies.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
- Board certification or fellowship in Nephrology (e.g., FRCP, FASN, ABIM Nephrology, or equivalent).
- Full registration with the medical council in the relevant country.
- Minimum [X] years of post-fellowship clinical experience (as per employer needs).
- Expertise in dialysis management, glomerular disease, hypertension, and fluid/electrolyte disorders.
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to continued professional development and evidence-based practice.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with interventional nephrology procedures.
- Involvement in clinical research or academic teaching.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems.
