Consultant Gynecology

Position Summary:

Seeking an experienced and highly skilled Consultant in Gynecology to join our Obstetrics and Gynecology Department. The successful candidate will provide expert clinical care in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of gynecological conditions, contribute to the development of clinical services, and support medical education and research initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary environment with a strong focus on patient-centered care and clinical excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Duties:

• Provide comprehensive outpatient and inpatient gynecological services, including surgical and non-surgical treatment of conditions such as fibroids, endometriosis, abnormal uterine bleeding, pelvic pain, and menopause management
• Perform a full range of gynecological procedures, including minimally invasive surgeries (laparoscopy/hysteroscopy), open surgeries, and advanced techniques as per expertise
• Participate in consultant-led ward rounds, surgical lists, and multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings
• Manage emergency gynecological cases as per the hospital’s rota schedule
• Ensure the highest standards of patient care and safety

Administrative and Leadership:

• Take part in the development and implementation of clinical protocols and pathways
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical governance activities
• Lead and contribute to departmental meetings and audits

Teaching and Research:

• Teach and mentor junior doctors, medical students, and nursing staff
• Support or lead clinical research projects, audits, or publications
• Engage in continuing medical education and contribute to academic programs

Qualifications:

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution
• Specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynecology with recognized certification (e.g., MRCOG, FRCOG, DNB, or equivalent)
• Completion of recognized higher specialist training (CCT or equivalent)
• Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology (where applicable)
• Valid license/registration to practice medicine in [Country/State]
• Minimum of 5–7 years of relevant post-qualification experience preferred
