Job Summary:
The Associate Professor of Respiratory Medicine will play a critical role in education, clinical care, and research within the Department of Respiratory Medicine. This position involves teaching medical students and residents, providing expert care in respiratory disorders, and conducting research to advance the field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching and Education:
- Deliver lectures, seminars, and practical training sessions for medical students, residents, and fellows in respiratory medicine.
- Mentor and supervise residents and medical students in clinical settings and research projects.
- Develop and assess educational programs and curricula to enhance training in respiratory medicine.
- Clinical Practice:
- Provide high-quality clinical care for patients with respiratory conditions, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of diseases such as asthma, COPD, and lung cancer.
- Perform diagnostic procedures and interventions as required.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient management and optimal clinical outcomes.
- Research:
- Engage in and lead research initiatives focused on respiratory medicine, including clinical trials, epidemiological studies, and translational research.
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at national and international conferences.
- Seek external funding and grants to support research activities and initiatives.
- Service and Leadership:
- Participate in departmental committees and contribute to strategic planning and program development.
- Engage in community outreach and education on respiratory health topics.
- Foster collaborations with other departments and institutions to enhance interdisciplinary research and clinical care.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Medical degree (MBBS + MS/MD) with completion of a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in respiratory medicine (pulmonology).
