Associate Professor Orthopedic

Job Summary:

The Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery will play a key role in education, clinical practice, and research within the Department of Orthopedic Surgery. This position involves teaching medical students and residents, providing expert orthopedic care, and engaging in research to advance the field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching and Education:
    • Deliver lectures, seminars, and hands-on training to medical students, residents, and fellows in orthopedic surgery.
    • Mentor and supervise residents and medical students in clinical settings and research projects.
    • Develop and assess educational curricula to enhance the training experience in orthopedic surgery.
  • Clinical Practice:
    • Provide high-quality orthopedic care, including diagnosis and management of musculoskeletal conditions and injuries.
    • Perform surgical procedures and oversee postoperative care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
    • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient management.
  • Research:
    • Engage in and lead research initiatives focused on orthopedic surgery, including clinical outcomes, surgical techniques, and advancements in musculoskeletal care.
    • Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at national and international conferences.
    • Seek external funding and grants to support research activities and initiatives.
  • Service and Leadership:
    • Participate in departmental committees and contribute to strategic planning and program development.
    • Engage in community outreach and education on orthopedic health topics.
    • Foster collaborations with other departments and institutions to enhance interdisciplinary research and clinical care.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Medical degree (MBBS + MS/MD) with completion of a residency in orthopedic surgery.
    • Fellowship training in a subspecialty of orthopedic surgery is preferred.
