Associate Professor General Medicine

Job Summary:

The Associate Professor of General Medicine will contribute to the education, clinical practice, and research initiatives within the Department of General Medicine. This role involves teaching medical students and residents, providing comprehensive patient care, and engaging in research to advance the field of general medicine.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teaching and Education:
  • Deliver lectures, seminars, and clinical training sessions to medical students, residents, and fellows in general medicine.
  • Mentor and supervise residents and medical students in clinical settings and research projects.
  • Develop and evaluate educational programs and curricula to enhance the training experience in general medicine.
• Clinical Practice:
  • Provide comprehensive patient care, including the diagnosis and management of a wide range of medical conditions.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated patient management and high-quality care.
  • Uphold patient safety and quality improvement initiatives in clinical practice.
• Research:
  • Engage in and lead research initiatives focused on general medicine topics, including clinical outcomes, patient safety, and health care delivery.
  • Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at national and international conferences.
  • Seek external funding and grant opportunities to support research activities.
• Service and Leadership:
  • Participate in departmental governance and committees, contributing to strategic planning and development.
  • Engage in community outreach and education on health topics relevant to general medicine.
  • Foster collaborations with other departments and institutions to enhance interdisciplinary research and clinical initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Education:
  • Medical degree (MBBS + MS/MD) with completion of a residency in internal medicine or general medicine.
  • Fellowship training in a subspecialty of internal medicine is desirable.
