Job Summary:
The Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine will play a critical role in education, clinical practice, and research within the Department of Emergency Medicine. This position involves teaching medical students and residents, providing expert patient care in emergency settings, and engaging in research to advance the field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching and Education:
- Deliver lectures, seminars, and practical training sessions in emergency medicine to medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Mentor and supervise residents and fellows in clinical practice and research activities.
- Develop and assess educational curricula to enhance the training experience in emergency medicine.
- Clinical Practice:
- Provide high-quality emergency care, including the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of acute conditions.
- Participate actively in the clinical operations of the emergency department, ensuring excellent patient care and safety.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate coordinated and comprehensive patient management.
- Research:
- Engage in and lead research initiatives in emergency medicine, focusing on clinical outcomes, quality improvement, and innovative treatment approaches.
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at relevant conferences.
- Seek external funding and grants to support research projects and initiatives.
- Service and Leadership:
- Participate in departmental committees and contribute to strategic planning and development efforts.
- Engage in community outreach and education on emergency medicine topics and public health issues.
- Collaborate with other departments and organizations to enhance interdisciplinary research and clinical initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Medical degree (MBBS + MS/MD) with completion of a residency in emergency medicine.
- Fellowship training in a subspecialty of emergency medicine is preferred.
