Assistant Professor Urology

Job Summary:

The Assistant Professor of Urology is a faculty position responsible for providing high-quality education, conducting research, and offering clinical expertise in the field of urology. This position involves teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, conducting research in urological medicine, and providing patient care in both outpatient and inpatient settings. The role is integral to the academic and clinical missions of the institution.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Teaching and Education:
    • Deliver lectures, seminars, and practical demonstrations on urology topics to medical students, residents, and fellows.
    • Supervise and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows during their clinical rotations in urology.
    • Design and update curriculum for urology-related courses.
    • Participate in exam creation, grading, and evaluation of students.
    • Facilitate journal clubs, case discussions, and academic presentations.
  2. Clinical Care:
    • Provide outpatient and inpatient care for patients with a variety of urological conditions.
    • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as cystoscopy, prostate biopsy, renal surgery, laparoscopic procedures, and urological surgeries.
    • Offer preoperative, operative, and postoperative management for patients undergoing urological procedures.
    • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care.
  3. Research:
    • Conduct and publish original research in the field of urology and related disciplines.
    • Seek external funding opportunities for research projects.
    • Encourage and support residents and fellows in their research endeavors.
    • Participate in institutional and national research collaborations.
  4. Administrative and Academic Duties:
    • Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and institutional activities.
    • Contribute to departmental development by participating in strategic planning, accreditation, and curriculum development.
    • Maintain academic records and ensure compliance with institutional policies and regulatory standards.
  5. Professional Development:
    • Stay updated with the latest advancements in urology through continuous medical education (CME) activities.
    • Attend national and international conferences, workshops, and symposia.
    • Develop professional relationships with colleagues, researchers, and academic institutions to foster collaborative efforts.

Required Qualifications:

  • Educational Qualifications:
    • MBBS + MCh/DNB in Urology.
    • MCh/DNB in Urology (or equivalent qualification) from a recognized institution.
  • Experience:
    • At least 3-5 years of clinical experience post-specialization in urology.
    • Proven experience in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
    • Strong record of academic or clinical research in urology.

Qualification – MBBS + MCh/DNB in Urology.
