Job Summary:
The Assistant Professor of Psychiatry will contribute to the academic and clinical mission of the department through teaching, research, and clinical practice. This role involves providing high-quality education to medical students and residents, engaging in innovative research, and delivering exemplary patient care. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to advancing the field of psychiatry through scholarly activities and collaborative efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching and Education:
- Develop and deliver lectures, seminars, and small-group sessions for medical students, residents, and fellows.
 - Supervise and mentor residents and medical students in clinical settings.
 - Participate in curriculum development and educational program design.
 - Assess and evaluate student and resident performance, providing constructive feedback.
 
 - Clinical Duties:
- Provide high-quality patient care in outpatient, inpatient, or specialized psychiatric settings.
 - Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, develop treatment plans, and manage ongoing care.
 - Engage in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences.
 
 - Research:
- Conduct original research in psychiatry, aiming to contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field.
 - Seek and secure funding through grants and other sources to support research activities.
 - Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at academic conferences.
 - Collaborate with other researchers and academic institutions on research projects.
 
 - Service and Leadership:
- Participate in departmental, institutional, and professional committees and task forces.
 - Contribute to quality improvement and policy development within the department.
 - Engage in community outreach and educational activities related to mental health.
 
 - Professional Development:
- Stay abreast of advancements in psychiatric practice and research.
 - Pursue continuing education and professional development opportunities.
 - Maintain board certification and licensure requirements.
 
 
Qualifications:
- Education: MBBS, MS/MD, DNB.
 - Experience: Completion of Psychiatry Residency Program and fellowship training, if applicable. Demonstrated experience in teaching, research, and clinical practice.
