Position Summary:
The Department of Physiology is seeking a highly qualified and enthusiastic individual for the position of Assistant Professor of Physiology. This tenure-track position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our academic community through outstanding teaching, innovative research, and active service. Key Responsibilities:
Teaching and Education:
- Deliver high-quality instruction in physiology at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels through lectures, laboratory sessions, and seminars.
- Develop and design course materials, curricula, and assessment methods that align with current best practices in physiology education.
- Mentor and advise students on academic and career matters, providing guidance and support for their educational growth.
- Participate in curriculum development and continuous improvement efforts to enhance the quality of the educational experience.
Research:
- Establish and maintain an independent research program in physiology, conducting original research that contributes to the advancement of the field.
- Seek and secure external funding through grant applications and other sources to support research activities.
- Publish research findings in high-impact peer-reviewed journals and present at national and international conferences.
- Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary research projects and contribute to departmental research initiatives.
Service and Leadership:
- Engage in departmental, college, and university service through participation in committees, governance, and other institutional activities.
- Contribute to the development of departmental policies and initiatives that support the mission and strategic goals of the department.
- Participate in professional organizations and contribute to the advancement of the field of physiology.
- Engage in community outreach and public engagement activities to promote the department and its programs.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- MBBS, MS/MD, or equivalent degree in Physiology or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated expertise in physiology with a strong record of research achievements, including publications and successful grant funding.
