Position Overview:
The Department of Neurology at [Institution Name] is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Neurology. Key Responsibilities:
1. Clinical Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality patient care in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of neurological disorders (e.g., stroke, epilepsy, dementia, movement disorders, neuromuscular diseases, etc.).
- Conduct outpatient and inpatient evaluations, including the use of advanced diagnostic technologies and tools.
- Manage complex neurological cases in a collaborative, multidisciplinary setting.
- Participate in specialty clinics and ensure continuity of care for neurology patients.
- Contribute to emergency consultations, inpatient care, and potentially on-call coverage as needed.
2. Research Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain an independent and collaborative research agenda in the field of neurology.
- Conduct clinical or translational research in neurology, with the goal of advancing knowledge in neurological disorders and treatments.
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at national and international conferences.
- Seek funding opportunities to support research efforts, including applying for grants from federal, private, and other funding bodies.
- Mentor and guide medical students, residents, and fellows involved in research projects.
3. Educational Responsibilities:
- Teach medical students, residents, and fellows in neurology, both in the clinical setting and through didactic instruction.
- Develop and deliver lectures, seminars, and workshops focused on various neurological disorders and treatment modalities.
- Supervise and mentor residents, fellows, and students in their clinical practice and research activities.
- Participate in continuing medical education (CME) programs to foster lifelong learning among medical professionals.
- Assist in curriculum development for neurology education at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
4. Administrative Responsibilities:
- Participate in departmental and institutional meetings, contributing to strategic planning and development within the Department of Neurology.
- Take on administrative duties such as committee work, quality improvement initiatives, and involvement in departmental governance.
- Assist in the development of protocols, guidelines, and best practices for neurological care within the institution.
Qualifications:
Education & Training:
- MD, DO, or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
- Completion of residency in Neurology, with subspecialty fellowship training preferred but not required.
Licensure & Certification:
- Board certification or eligibility in Neurology.
- Active medical license to practice in [State or Country].
Experience:
- Strong clinical experience in neurology, with the ability to diagnose and manage a variety of neurological disorders.
- A track record of research accomplishments or potential for independent research in neurology.
