Assistant Professor Forensic Medicine

Position Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

1. Teaching and Education:

   • Provide academic guidance and mentoring to students, assisting in their professional development.
   • Participate in the development of new programs and curriculum enhancements in forensic medicine.
2. Research and Scholarship:
   • Conduct original research in forensic medicine and related fields, with the goal of publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
   • Actively pursue grant opportunities to support research initiatives and projects.
   • Collaborate with faculty members, other departments, and external organizations on interdisciplinary research projects.
   • Present research findings at national and international conferences and contribute to the dissemination of forensic science knowledge.
3. Clinical Practice and Service:
   • Provide expert consultations in forensic medical examinations, including autopsies and death investigations, in collaboration with local authorities, hospitals, and law enforcement agencies.
   • Participate in forensic case work and offer expert testimony in legal settings when necessary.
   • Advise local health authorities, law enforcement agencies, and the community on issues related to forensic medicine and public health.
4. Administrative Duties:
   • Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and accreditation processes.
   • Contribute to the development of departmental policies and strategic goals.
   • Supervise and evaluate the performance of students, interns, and junior faculty as appropriate.

Qualifications:

• Education:
  • MBBS + MS/MD
• Experience:
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of teaching experience in forensic medicine or a related field at the university level is preferred.
  • Practical experience in forensic medicine, including autopsy, toxicology, and death investigation, is essential.
  • Research experience with a strong publication record is highly desirable.
