Position Summary:
The Assistant Professor in Anatomy is an academic faculty position responsible for teaching, mentoring, and conducting research in the field of human anatomy. The role includes delivering theoretical and practical instruction to undergraduate (MBBS, BDS, nursing, paramedical) and postgraduate students, participating in departmental activities, and contributing to academic excellence and curriculum development. The faculty member is expected to maintain high standards of teaching and actively engage in research and scholarly work.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching and Academic Duties:
- Deliver lectures, practical demonstrations, and small group tutorials in Gross Anatomy, Histology, Embryology, and Neuroanatomy.
- Conduct cadaveric dissection sessions and museum-based teaching.
- Prepare and evaluate internal assessments, practical exams, and university examinations.
- Mentor undergraduate students and guide them in learning anatomical concepts.
- Contribute to curriculum development, learning resource creation, and digital teaching initiatives.
Research and Publications:
- Initiate or participate in research projects related to anatomy, medical education, or interdisciplinary fields.
- Publish original research, reviews, or case reports in indexed peer-reviewed journals.
- Present research findings at academic conferences and workshops.
- Guide undergraduate and postgraduate research projects, if applicable.
Administrative and Departmental Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update departmental records, logbooks, and teaching files.
- Assist in managing the dissection hall, histology lab, and museum.
- Participate in departmental planning, meetings, and academic audits.
- Serve on institutional committees or working groups as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Educational:
- MBBS with MD (Anatomy) or equivalent qualification (recognized by the NMC or equivalent national body).
- Experience:
- Minimum 1 year as Senior Resident / Demonstrator in Anatomy (as per NMC or institutional norms).
- Registration:
- Valid registration with the Medical Council (State/National).

- Proficiency in cadaveric dissection and anatomical teaching techniques
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Aptitude for medical education and mentoring students
- Familiarity with histology slide interpretation and museum curation
- Basic knowledge of research methodology and data analysis
